A smaller version of our Family Beef Box, ideal for couples, smaller households, or anyone trying Pentrefelin beef for the first time.
All our beef comes from our 100% grass-fed Red Poll cattle, reared slowly on pasture here at Pentrefelin.
A balanced selection from the whole animal
Our beef boxes are made by sharing the whole carcass fairly across all of the boxes in each batch.
Because every animal is different, and because there is only a limited amount of each cut on a carcass, the exact contents of each box will vary.
Your box will contain approximately 3.5–4.0kg of beef, made up from a selection of cuts which may include:
• Prime steaks such as fillet, ribeye, sirloin or rump
• Roasting cuts such as topside, silverside or other suitable joints
• Slow-cooking cuts such as shin, chuck, brisket or short rib
• Mince and/or diced beef
Please note: the cuts above are examples of what may be included and are not guaranteed in every box. For example, some boxes may contain a roasting joint while another may receive additional steak, slow-cooking beef or other cuts of an equivalent value instead.
We carefully balance every box so that each customer receives a fair share of the carcass and good value for the weight of beef supplied.
Why we do it this way
We don’t buy individual cuts in to make every box identical.
We rear whole animals here on the farm and sell them nose-to-tail, making use of the entire carcass. There might be plenty of mince and slow-cooking beef from an animal, but only a limited number of fillets, ribeyes or roasting joints.
Rather than wasting cuts or only selling the most popular parts of the animal, we divide each carcass as fairly as possible across that batch of boxes.
It means no two Pentrefelin beef boxes will necessarily be exactly the same, and that’s part of buying beef directly from a whole animal rather than from a standardised supermarket supply chain.

Collection
Our next batch is expected to be ready at the beginning of October.
We’ll confirm the exact collection date once the beef is back from our butcher and ready for you.
