Pentrefelin Stud. Quality Welsh Ponies & Cobs.

Through carefully chosen bloodlines, Pentrefelin Stud prides itself on producing and breeding animals with the correct conformation, type and quality to perform in all equine disciplines, be they in-hand, riding or driving competitions. They must have kind even temperaments, with the scope and length of stride to compete on equal terms with larger breeds of horses, and the Welsh cob has always been prized for it's soundness and versatility, making him an idea family horse. Our broodmares have been carefully chosen with all these factors in mind and are deep bodied cobs with plenty of heart room.

Sorrennto has had a great year under saddle, at his last show he was Supreme champion of champions at the NPCA, winning the coverted Presidents cup. He was 3rd at the Royal Welsh, and has had numerous 2nds in HOYS qualifiers, always knocking on the door. He has had many championships through the year and is currently on lease to Leweane Ennet of Altringham, Cheshire. We have decided not to cover any mares with him during his ridden career, to keep his mind on his job. Sorennto has a superb, trainable temperament and has been described by Jennie Lorreston Clark as being a star of the future, he is certainly on the right track.

Pentrefelin Ladykiller,( " Charlie" )

Pentrefelin Ladykiller has been sold to Lisa Barsoum and now gelded, broken and coming out under saddle 2010. Good luck to Lisa and family.

Ladykiller was produced by the Dycott stud in 2007 as a yearling and won many first prizes and championships. The photos where taken as a yearling. He is leased to Lisa Bousum to go under saddle, but will return here for the 2009 season to cover mares, but not at Public Stud. He is very welshy, very correct and a fantastic athletic mover. He is line bred to Nebo Prince and shows a great likeness to Prince. His dam is one of our most prolific breeders of Performance animals and a lovely stamp of a cob. She is now in her 22yr. "Charlie" is a half brother to HOYS Qualifier, Pentrefelin Bonnie Prince Charlie, Twice National dressage championship finalist Pentrefelin Cymraeg, Undersaddle champion Pentrefelin Catalina, Pentrefelin Talhulah and full sister to Pentrefelin Bonnita, to name a few.

Pentrefelin Sanguinetti

Pentrefelin Sanguinetti is flying the flag in showjumping in France winning his first outdoor competition with his young rider Nils Riethmuller.

The last of our D stallions, Sanguinetti, is in joint ownership with Proffesor Didier Reithmuller of the Tresson Stud and he standing at stud in France where he is competing in showjumping for the Tresson Stud. He is a five year old, ridden now by Nils Reithmuller of the Tresson stud and the partnership is looking very promising for the first competition together. He is full brother to Pentrefelin Scarlett also very successful show jumper in France now back at Pentrefelin as a brood mare. We also half own his full brother Pentrefelin Stroller who is just beginning his ridden career with the Tresson stud. We hope he lives up to his name sake. Sanguinetti is siring some very good foals in France.

Gideon is by Bryncarreg Lightening Jack ( Nebo Bouncer x Bryncarreg Cinderella by Bronllywn Black Magic ) and out of Gwryfach Bay Lady ( Trevallion Prince Comet x Cwmgelli Welsh Model by Cippyn Red Flyer ). He is a four year old bay roan stallion, who is siring lovely pony type foals with his beautiful limbs. Gideon has a temperament to die for and is a great show cob, but requires time yet to mature. His yearling filly Pentrefelin Treasure won many championships this year in North Wales. We have 4 mares in foal to him for 2009 including Pentrefelin Poppy, Pentrefelin Charisma, Pentrefelin May Lady and Synod Glanwenna.
